Two AA Rosette Restaurant…

Moryd (Welsh for estuary), is a contemporary restaurant set in the main house serving up the best of fresh local produce by head Chef Paul Owen & his team.

Paul, is an experienced two-rosette chef who trained under master chef Jamie Wilkes at the Ritz Hotel in London.  The Mansion House’s menu reflects his culinary talents spread over a choice of menus.  The market menu offers two courses at £14.95 and three at £16.95.  Classic dishes with local ingredients immediately catch the eye – smoked goose, tomato and onion salad or crisp soft shell crab, lemon mayonnaise and watercress followed by slow roast shoulder of Welsh lamb with fondant potato, carrot puree, herbed green beans and mint jus are guaranteed to activate the taste buds.

The two rosette a la carte menu is highly original with dishes like river-caught scallops, kashmir gold saffron risotto fennel salad, followed by Welsh pork fillet, pork cheek bon bon, Carmarthen Gold jelly, parsnip puree and black garlic mash.  Dessert comprises of such choices as pink praline tart, candy floss with strawberry ice cream.

The menus on offer are as imaginative as the hotel’s refurbishment, and visitors can enjoy these from tables set in the restaurant with a prospect of the estuary and the surrounding wooded headland.

A la carte menu is a wonderful feast of treats, featuring premium local produce and showcasing our kitchen team’s fantastic skills.  Our a la carte menu is available (Sunday evening – with limitations) Monday to Friday, for lunch & dinner.

(Please note a booking of seven guests or more requires a pre-order of the guests meal choices to allow us to be able to deliver the quality of our 2 AA rosette menu without a delay to yourselves.)

Market Menu is available for lunch & dinner from Sunday evening through to Friday lunchtime.

Our fresh daily Market Menu is available in our restaurant, Moryd, offering a one (£12.95), two (£14.95) or  three (£16.95) course option.

Special’s board features some of our very limited seasonal produce, such as local coracle caught Sewin from the river Towy, line caught Seabass, fresh Flounder, to name but a few.

Sunday Lunch…two course Sunday lunch £17.50 & three course £20.50, children aged 4-12 years £9.95.

Morning & afternoon’s…coffee or tea & cake is available in the lounge throughout the morning and afternoon…just drop in!

Birthday Cake…Regrettably we can no longer allow guests to bring their own cakes.  If you are celebrating a birthday, please let us know and our team of chefs will prepare a special treat for the birthday person!



  • Mansion House Llansteffan is a 200 year old Georgian mansion located on a hill overlooking Carmarthen Bay.
  • There is parking across two parking areas beside the house, with a dropping off / collection point at the front door of the house.
  • Access to the generous front door is via two low steps. There is a single step into the house. A removable ramp can be provided to allow wheelchair access into the house; to ensure it is set-up for your arrival, please inform us upon booking that you require ramp access.
  • Once in the house, all public areas are on one level, including the public toilets.
  • There are no bedrooms on the ground floor and we do not have lift access within the house.
  • All first floor bedrooms are accessible only by the staircase, with half landing.
  • All of the bedrooms have en-suite shower facilities.  Shower mats are available upon request
  • There is one superior room which has a slipper bath, should you require a bath please specify upon booking and we will check the availability of the room.
  • Dogs are respectfully not permitted within the grounds of Mansion House Llansteffan.
